Want to start your day or weekend with a smile? Why not watch this video of homeless & under-privileged children at a Lighthouse Mission Saturday program having crazy fun & laughing.. Sadly, a normal day for most of these kids doesn't include a whole lot of laughing. Thank you to those who give your time, talent & treasure to make these programs possible..

I love days like today, freezing, bitter, windy and cold. why? Well its not because I enjoy the cold but its a great opportunity to demonstrate the love of Jesus by bringing food & serving them at todays Lighthouse Mission street outreaches. We gave out food, hot chocolate, hats, gloves & wrapped blankets around shivering people.. Please keep us in prayer as we send out trucks into communities across Long Island each day sharing the Gospel of Jesus & feeding the poor... Why not come & join us?

It was incredibly cold outside today but long lines of people stood in the cold waiting on Lighthouse Mission food lines in Bellport & Central Islip. Thankfully we were able to provide people with some warm hot chocolate & coffee while they waited. Pastor Jim & his team were putting blankets on the shoulders of shivering elderly people. Everyone was very thankful & we prayed with many people. We still need warm gloves & hats if anyone is able to help.. It's going to be very cold again tomorrow & the next few days.
Wednesdays temperature is supposed to be very cold in the teens.. We are already low on volunteers as it is at the Lighthouse Missions Central Islip outreach location- we would love to be able to offer hot chocolate or coffee to the hundred or so people standing in the cold.... Anyone have any suggestions, ideas, donations, etc?

During the Lighthouse Missions street outreaches today Pastor Jim handed out hats & gloves to cold people waiting on line for food as well as balloons to all of the children home from school standing with their parents waiting for food.. When he met this little girl & her mom. It's 29 degrees outside & she is wearing flip-flops! He spoke with the mom & learned they had nothing else. Her sneakers were worn out & unusable. We were able to give them food & a nice warm coat for the little girl but no shoes. Pastor Jim has been praying to be able to put a pair of new shoes on the feet of every child in the elementary schools surrounding the Mission.. Sounds like a big prayer but we serve a Big God!
It sure is cold outside today & hundreds of people lines up at Lighthouse Mission street outreaches today in Coram & Lake Ronkonkoma for food, coats, blankets, etc. in addition to receiving food everyone learned about Jesus- for some hearing the Gospel of Jesus for the first time.. Please consider collecting warm hats & gloves for us to give to cold & hurting people. We did not have nearly enough today..
Here I am having a great time talking about Jesus at Centereach Bible church today... As you can see I "dressed up" for the occasion :-) ... What a great church. Go and check em' out one day. You WILL be blessed - Pastor Jim.
Getting set up for today's "Kids Club" at the Lighthouse Mission from 11-1pm.. Please keep us in prayer as we share the love of Jesus with 80+ under-privileged children from the community & homeless shelters. Crazy games, lunch, prizes & of course learning about Jesus. Please consider financially helping to sponsoring this important afternoon, signing up to help or praying for it. Lets face it, the devil hates what we are doing & tries to stop the Mission all the time. We need all the prayers & help we can get. For most of these children this is the only place they learn about Jesus.

Each week the Lighthouse Mission offers a bunch of stuff for children to do: from pre k - straight up to 18+yrs. it's always a blessing to have youth from the surrounding community (which has shootings often & struggles with gang violence) pile into the Lighthouse Mission to hang out, have fun, snacks, but best of all eager to learn about what God has in store for their lives. To learn His Word & how to apply it to their lives. Please pray for these kids. Many have crazy home lives. Gangs, drugs, violence, homelessness are real parts of their lives.

I am blessed to say that through the prayers & offerings of some generous people - Lighthouse Mission was able to bless this mother with twin 3 week old daughters with this much needed stroller! She was shocked! What an opportunity to bless this poor homeless family & share the love if Jesus with them. Please keep them in your prayers as the babies have been in & out of the hospital. Keep praying- I can't wait to see what God is going to do next!
Its not such a nice day outside but there are long lines of people waiting on a Lighthouse Mission food lines in Coram & Lake Ronkonkoma. Many elderly, many single parents with their children, some out of work, some on their luinch break, some homeless - most however, are just regular people struggling to survive here on Long island week-week.. sadly, some have lost all hope. The Lighthouse Mission is there faithfully each day to not only meet their need for food but also & most importantly to bring them that Hope-that Good news. That good news is Jesus. Why not come out and join us in this important work or help support us so we can continue to bring Jesus into some really dark places here on LI?

Each Saturday afternoon around 2:00pm the Lighthouse Mission offers FREE (everything is always free at the good ol' mission) guitar lessons to the community. It's always a blessing to watch young people get so excited when someone invests a little time into them. It's the love of Jesus in action. Want to find out more about this unique program? Give us a call or stop on over & we will get ya plugged in. We have plenty of guitars for everyone to use.

I Just got blessed to receive a photo of a beautiful little girl who was blessed by God through the Lighthouse Mission with a pretty dress & doll for her birthday. Thank you so much to everyone who helps the Lighthouse Mission continue to be the hands & feet of Jesus... The dress even fit perfectly :-)

The weekly Lighthouse Mission street outreach that needs the most volunteer help right now is Central Islip. Last week we had only a few people to help serve more then a hundred hurting & hungry people standing in the cold with food, cloths, prayer & the Word of God. Sadly, this outreach is literally surrounded by churches (as are most of the outreaches) - large & small churches & only a few dedicated people show up to help each week. Never mind if its raining or snowing, people still line up & need food & prayer & Lighthouse will always go out to bring it to them but we have so few volunteers that show up. Where are all of the soldiers of Christ? There are people out there that may never walk into a church & if they don't, how will they hear the good news of Jesus? The answer is you & me need to bring it to them. Lighthouse is blessed to see countless people each week give their lives to Jesus - literally standing on the streets of Long Island. I strain my voice- raw each week from pleading with crowds of people to Turn from their sins & give their lives to Jesus because the Kingdom of Heaven is near.. Will you help us? pray for us? Invest your time, talents , treasure with us? .. "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few"- Jesus
Sadly, a lot of the food the Lighthouse Mission receives is expired or going to expire. I know that sounds bad- but the blessing is that we don't waste anything. In most instances we are able to give plenty of food to "rescue" farms. Where the rescued animals (pigs, horses, goats, etc.) are blessed to have the food & the farm owners are happy to save $$ that can they can use for the medical needs of the animals, rather then buy food... You always need to look for the blessing- even in dark times- God is always there.
The children who attended the Lighthouse Missions "Kids Club" today were incredibly blessed to watch an amazing puppet show put on by Petra Puppets! .. It is so wonderful to listen to children laugh who, in many cases have very little in their lives to laugh about. Best of all they got an opportunity to learn about Jesus!
A question I get a lot is: "Pastor how do I know that the food or funds that I donate to the Lighthouse Mission will go directly to the people on Long Island"? That's a great question as many other organizations can not guarantee that at all. However my answer is "your right! You don't know- so why don't YOU come meet us at the street outreach locations and help hand it out with us"? Ya see lighthouse mission is a very "rubber meets the road" ministry. No training necessary, just come with an open heart to serve Jesus. A better question to ask is "are you a REAL CHRISTian organization that tells people the good news of Jesus >or< ad ya just feeding them? Sadly, most are just giving them food when they really need is the Bread of life.. Guess who that is? -- JESUS

Hundreds of people came for food & cloths today at Lighthouse Mission outreaches today. Sadly we had very few volunteers to help... We shared the Gospel of Jesus & prayed with countless people. We literally put hats, gloves & scarves on shivering people standing on line... One old man was horribly shaking as he leaned on his walker, Pastor Jim wrapped a blanket around him which seemed to help. Would anyone else consider helping us wrap blankets around shivering people right here on Long Island?.. "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few"- Jesus

It sure is cold outside today but people need food & most importantly the Word of God. So Lighthouse Mission outreach trucks will be in Central Islip & Bellport today.. What better way to show the love of Jesus then to stand in the cold with hurting people & give food to the hungry. It's a blessing to "suffer" a little for the Gospel of Jesus - why not come on our & help be the hands of Jesus?
