When you look at this photo taken from the back of a Lighthouse Mission truck during a daily street outreach you may feel sad that there are so many people who are in need of food & may want to donate some time, money, etc. to help meet the need. But what I hope will encourage you is that each and every person standing there will get to hear the good news of Jesus & pray with someone to receive Him I to their lives. How amazing is that?

Thank you to everyone who secretly nominated Pastor Jim of the Lighthouse Mission to be voted "Man of the year" in the religous category for the Times & Beacon Newspapers. He was shocked, suprised and incredibly humbled to have won the honor. He wanted to make sure that ALL of the Glory & honor go to Jesus.- the very reason that Pastor Jim & the Lighthouse Mission does what they do. Simply to serve Jesus.. Thank you all & God bless you! ... I can't wait to see what God is going to do next!

It was cold & windy today but people lined up for food, cloths & the Word of God at the Lighthouse Missions street outreaches today. A Local school gave us some homemade blankets & we were blessed to give them to needy families on line. Praise God.

Wednesday, December 26, 2012

Here is Pastor Jim having fun today during Lighthouse Mission daily street outreaches sharing the gospel of Jesus & giving out scarfs, coats & hats to cold people waiting on line for food.. Thank you to those who donated the hats & gloves - we can always use them.
Want to be blessed this CHRISTmas? .. Watch this quick video of the Lighthouse Missions "Kids Club" as the children sing silent night. It will warm your heart to know that many of these children like Jesus are homeless & hungry themselves. Knowing that there may not be any gift for them this CHRISTmas like other children they still sing to Jesus..- “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven" Matt 18:3 / Jesus

Merry CHRISTmas from your missionary friends at the Lighthouse Mission.. This photo is of some of the children from the Lighthouse Missions weekly "Kids Club" - they were getting ready for the CHRISTmas pageant. Like Jesus, many if the children in the program are homeless themselves...
It's CHRISTmas eve & the lines are long and it's cold with people waiting on Lighthouse Mission food lines for food .. I was blessed to share the real reason Jesus was born (to provide us the only way to heaven) with hundreds of people waiting on line for food. 30+ invited Jesus into their lives- the best CHRISTmas gift of all.
It may be CHRISTmas eve & we are all getting ready for the parties, gifts, church, etc. but there are hungry, cold, homeless people outside today (like Jesus 2000+ years ago) that count on the Lighthouse Missions weekly street outreaches. For food but most of all to hear the good - Saving news Of the gospel of Jesus. Why not become a monthly Financial partner, come on down & help lend a hand.. We will be in Coram & Lake Ronkonkoma today. Merry CHRISTmas!
People lined up with their children forming long lines in the pouring rain & stood in puddles just to get a few bags of groceries during the Lighthouse Missions daily street outreaches yesterday.. The need is starting to peak 3200 meals each week... We may not always have very much to offer but what we do have and will ALWAYS give is Jesus.
What a blessing to be able to provide a fun time & safe time for homeless & under-privileged children. Watching them enjoy their time with Lighthouse Mission volunteers as they make & decorate their own Happy Birthday Jesus hats during our "Kids Club" is such a blessing.. It may not seem like much - its all that we could afford to provide, but to these little guys its a BIG deal... Please keep these little ones in your prayers as well as the parents of the children killed in Newtown, CT

As difficult as it is to speak at a candle light vigil at Brookhaven town hall for the murdered school children & teachers in CT, I was blessed and honored to preach about the Light of the world, the Prince of peace, the very reason we celebrate CHRISTmas .. namely Jesus. The only place anyone could ever find comfort, hope & joy in times of unimaginable darkness.... Jesus. - please continue to pray for the families in New Town & their terrible loss. -- Pastor jim

Want an idea as to how you can make an impact in this world for the Kingdom of God? How about becoming a monthly partner with Lighthouse Mission to help sponsor any of our programs like the "Kids Club" where under- privileged & homeless children are blessed each week with games , crafts, lunch and learning about Jesus. For many, this pizza lunch given to the children during our "happy birthday Jesus party" was their only meal for the day.. Would you consider being the hands of Jesus?
What a blessing to be able to sponser several elementary schools for the Lighthouse Missions annual CHRISTmas program. Several hundred underprivilaged children were blessed with gifts. But best of all everyone was able to pray with someone to recieve the true meaning of CHRISTmas - namely JESUS! Thank you to everyoner who God used helped make this possible.
Lots of toys, lots of families expected to be blessed but best of all we are very excited to share the best news of CHRISTmas … Jesus! … BTW: pastor jim is 6'5"+ - thats a BIG bear!

Lighthouse Mission volunteers are well underway organizing & setting up toys, sorting cloths and configuring the room to host hundreds & hundreds of needy families. The parents will be able to go through the room & shop for exactly what their children would like for CHRISTmas. In addition, everyone will have the opportunity to hear the good news of Jesus (what CHRISTmas is really about)

I am so proud of these children from the Lighthouse Mission's "Kids Club". They did a great job participating in our 2012 CHRISTmas pageant. Ironically, like Jesus some of these children are homeless themselves. Please keep them in your prayers. God bless you. - Pastor jim
Lighthouse Missions CHRISTmas is tomorrow- AHHHH!! & we are, as always trusting God in a BIG way to provide toys for hundreds of local children in need. Want to find out more about how you can get plugged into the Lighthouse Mission this CHRISTmas & help be the hands of Jesus? Give us a call… check out this quick video from last years program- this year we are expecting record numbers of families- please keep us in your prayers.

As volunteers are setting up the food to give away to more then 100+ people who were waiting on line for food Pastor Jim was sharing the good news of CHRISTmas with the people - namely Jesus is the reason for this season, as he was preaching someone stopped their car and started honking their horn & screaming at him- so he yelled back merry CHRISTmas- Jesus loves you and they yelled back "Happy Holidays you filthy animal!" Everyone laughed & 20+ people still gave their hearts to Jesus! You just can't make this stuff up. Whoever said that ministry was boring? Come & see for yourself.
The Lighthouse Missions "Kids club" Christmas pageant was wonderful. To listen to so many homeless and underprivileged children singing praises to Jesus overwhelms me with joy. Especially after the terrible shooting yesterday that killed so many little children- it's so important that we demonstrate the love of Jesus to children & tell them no matter what the world may tell you God loves you..

Hundreds and hundreds of people came out today to Lighthouse Missions daily street outreaches in hope of receiving some food. By the grace of God we were able to meet every need-We were even able to give them chickens and turkeys,  & ot
her gifts for CHRISTmas. However Lighthouse doesn't care much about the food or other goodies that we are giving away every day. What we really care about is explaining to all who come what CHRISTmas is Is really about and that is God made a way (the only way) for us to be with Him one day in heaven when we die through His only son Jesus. Why not come down this week and help us hand out food and share the good news of Jesus?

Thursday, December 13, 2012

Where do you get enough food to provide 3200 people with meals each week? Is a question we hear a lot.. The Answer is: Jesus. It's a daily miracle- a lives & fishes thing. Don't believe us? Why not come to any Lighthouse Mission daily street outreach & see for yourself. If you do, you will be blessed to hear & see the Gospel of Jesus in action.

What a blessing to have so many little children attending the Lighthouse Missions free Mommy & Me class. Its so important to teach the little ones about Jesus at an early age. Unfortunately, for many a fun, interactive class is financially
beyond their reach. But with God ALL things are possible. Which is why everything that the Lighthouse Mission offers is always free. Thank you to everyone who helps make programs like these possible through your time & prayer & donations. God bless you.

What a blessing to have so many kids from the community come to the Lighthouse Mission for our weekly Ignite program. Basket ball, snacks, games, homework help, etc. but best of all teaching them how to live a life with Jesus in the center. This is not an easy ministry- many of these kids have a challenging life with gangs, drugs, homelessness, etc. always pulling at them. . Please keep them & us in your prayers.

Long lines of people waiting for food at the Lighthouse Mission weekly street outreaches are breaching 3200 each week. Even today in the rain people are lined up waiting for our trucks to arrive. Please pray for us that we will be able to meet each need & that we will have enough bibles & to provide to everyone who asks & is seeking to know Jesus.
It breaks my heart to see so many hurting & hungry Long Islanders waiting patiently on line at Lighthouse Mission daily street outreaches for food. Thank the Lord we have been able to meet each need for food put before us. Best of all, we have been blessed to pray with countless people to accept Jesus into their lives. That is why we do what we do- its ALL about Jesus!

CHRISTmas eve the news showed up & interviewed some people waiting on line for food in the cold at a Lighthouse Mission street outreach. They asked two cute little girls who were homeless what they would like to get for CHRISTmas -- listen to what they asked for.....

I am very excited to report that God has provided the Lighthouse Mission with a brand-new high-quality safe that is so much stronger than the last one. In addition we got our back window fixed. What the devil tried to steal and destroy God has made even better. I can't wait to see what God is going to do next!! Thank you so much everyone for your prayers and support.

I just had a very "serious" conversation with a 4yr old that explained to me (with her mom standing behind her with tears in her eyes) that under her CHRISTmas tree last year was a not from Santa that said "I'm sorry but I could not leave you a gift. I ran out. But next year I will bring you something special"..Her mom asked me in a wisper if I could help them this year with gifts. With God ALL things are possible…However, God can use you. Please watch video for details. God bless you!

Even though the Lighthouse Mission was robbed the other night I am excited to see how God is going to use it to remind people of the REAL meaning of CHRISTmas & what it is all about-- JESUS. And no matter what happens to the Lighthouse Mission we will always Praise God. Thank you everyone for your prayers. I cant wait to see what God is going to do next!

Great News! Someone broke into the Lighthouse Missions HQ in Bellport - they smashed our window, broke desks, smashed open our safe & stole $600 of donated cash & hundreds of dollars in food gift cards as well as Walmart & Toys R Us cards
that we needed to buy toys for our CHRISTmas program.. Why is this good news? Because I know that we must be angering the Devil for him to do this to Gods Lighthouse Mission. Please pray for the people who did this. My heart is breaking for them - Pastor Jim

While ministering to people waiting online for food at today's Lighthouse Mission street outreaches a woman asked me why do we come each week to give them food? I answered her so that you can know that Jesus is real and that He cares
for you.. With that I shared the gospel of Jesus with her and she invited Jesus into Her life. This is why we do what we do At the lighthouse Mission. Thank you To everyone that God uses to make this amazing ministry possible every day.
It's cold, we are standing in mud giving out food to hundreds of people standing in line - telling each one that Jesus loves them... What a blessing to be the hands of Jesus.. Why not come & join us?

People often think that the Lighthouse Mission ministers mostly to homeless people. That is not so, these days people coming for help are just regular people of all ages who need a little extra help & prayer.
Lots of people attending todays Lighthouse Mission street outreaches in Coram & Lake Ronkonkoma. Can you help us share the gospel of Jesus & feed the poor? If you can't lend a hand helping to hand out food can you help provide it? God bless you.

What does 70 under privileged & homeless children laughing + a parachute, plastic balls + rubber chickens look like at the Lighthouse Missions weekly Kids Club program look like? .. Watch the video... Best of all each one got to hear & see the love of Jesus in action. There's no better sound then children laughing who normally have so little reason to laugh ..
