What is the answer to the gang problem here on Long Island or anywhere else? Jesus. It's that simple. Spend some time with troubled or underprivileged kids, show them the love of Jesus. Today pastor jim had a great time teaching kids to mountain bike. Sadly, we did not have enough working mountain bikes for everyone who wanted to go. Please pray that God will bless us with the tools we need (in this instance mountain bikes) to be able to reach more kids for Jesus.

Giving out hair cuts & back packs with school supplies are great but the only reason that we do anything here at the Lighthouse Mission is to share the good news of Jesus with everyone. It was a blessing to be able to pray with every family who walked into the doors for school supplies.

Lots of free hair cuts from Jesus!
Having a great day telling people about Jesus, giving them back-packs stuffed full of school supplies from Jesus as well as watching 6 amazing hair cutters give hair cuts to hundred or so children. Its the Kingdom of God on the move here at Lighthouse Mission!

Very long lines of people this week hoping for some groceries at Lighthouse Missions street outreach this week. Many new faces & young families.. Many gave their lives & rededicated their lives to Jesus - how great is that? It's not about the food but all about Jesus

Interesting request: today pastor jim & Mike Wanted to take some local underprivileged kids Mountain biking as we do each Wednesday. During which we share practical life lessons based on the teachings of Jesus with them. But sadly, today we had more kids (20+) and not enough working bikes.  Most of the donated mountain bikes we have are old and very used and in need a lot of repair. It is not a good feeling to have to turn away troubled teens. Or worse while mountain biking with the kids your bike continues to break down along the way. I would like to be bold & raise $4500 to buy 12+ new quality mountain bikes that won't break down very easily for these teens to use during Lighthouse Mission events. When teens walk away from the lighthouse Mission because there's no bicycle for them to use, They can find themselves walking into trouble.. I know it sounds like a lot but with God all things are possible - Would you consider Helping to sponsor these bicycles and praying for these kids? The media, politicians. Police and government complaining about gang kids but no one is doing anything significant about it. All we need are the tools- in this case mountain bikes & bibles.

Someone just e-mailed us on Facebook and asked what "method" does pastor jim use to share the gospel of Jesus with people at the Lighthouse Mission street outreaches?.... So this photo IS my answer...
"Share the gospel of Jesus & use words when necessary".

Children will be going back to school in just a few short weeks & Lighthouse Mission is getting ready to bless homeless & under-privileged children with school supplies, hair cuts & best of all to hear the good news of Jesus. Can you help? Here is a great News12 report on the upcoming event.
Do you have any extra clothes that you no longer need? Perhaps you plan to get rid of your old summer clothes and old winter clothes to make room for some new stuff. Would you consider donating it to the Lighthouse Mission? We will use it to help clothe the poor & share the amazing good news of Jesus. Any clothes any condition.. You can bring them right to our HQ in Bellport or at any of our street outreach locations. God bless you!

It's a blessing to watch kids (many former gang kids) give their lives to Jesus at a Word of Life camp that would have been impossible for them to attend. But thanks to God working through people providing for them - many have met Jesus. It's the Kingdom of God on the move! Thank you to all those who financially & prayerfully support Gods Lighthouse.

As difficult as it can be to see long lines of people waiting for food here on Long Island At Lighthouse Mission Street outreaches. it's a blessing to be able to share the good news of Jesus and pray with each and everyone of them...
Lighthouse Mission pastors are blessed to be able to take a bunch of teens to "Word of Life Island" upstate NY for a free full week of crazy fun, games & most importantly learning about Jesus. For most of these kids a camp like this would be impossible to attend. Gangs. Drugs & violence are a daily part of their lives.. But with God ALL things are possible... Look at all of this luggage from the campers. Please keep these kids in your prayers.

Mission Teens BUSTED reading their bible; talking about a scripture while in their cabin here at Word of Life camp... Oh yeah, these are some of the "gang" kids that Newsday, the police; Gov. People have no idea what to do with... Lighthouse Mission knows exactly what to do: tell ' show them the love of Jesus!
The bible says: "This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!" - 2 Corinthians 5:17

No matter how many times I see so many people line up to receive food at Lighthouse Mission street outreaches under a loudly flapping American flag I can't help but think "What has happened to our mighty country "under God"?" .. Scripture says in 2 Chron. 7:14 "if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land." Maybe ALL of us CHRISTIans should listen? Then maybe there would no longer be a need for a Lighthouse Mission. -- Pastor jim

One thing that troubles me is to learn about churches & ministries that simply give people groceries or meals & never share with them the most important news of ALL and that is Jesus. They don't want to insult them or offend them.. Here's the deal, Lighthouse Mission is NOT here to simply feed people. We LOVE people enough to tell them about Jesus. It's ALL about Jesus. That is our only goal. - Pastor jim
What a blessed time today sharing the Amazing good news of Jesus & feeding the poor in Patchogue & Riverhead. Check out in this video how many children come with their parents in need of food. Please keep Lighthouse Mission in your prayers as funding has dropped very low & we need support.

Each Wednesday Pastor Mike & jim take a group of teens mountain biking. After each ride we share pratical life lessons of Jesus with the kids.. The amazing thing is that these kids were in gangs not so long ago… Being a Father to the fatherless is the Gospel of Jesus in action…

The buzz word around towns these days are the dangerous "gangs" invading our communities. How does Lighthouse Mission deal with the gang kids? answer: Jesus. (Its always Jesus) Love on the kids & spend some time, some money & teach them about Jesus.. Jesus said 2000+ years ago "I am the way, the truth & the life" ... It still applies today. - Pastor jim

While parents stand on Lighthouse Mission food lines their children can sit down at a table and enjoy a nutritious lunch. Sadly, this will be the only meal of the day for many of these little children… yes, this is happening right here on Long Island… Can you help be the hands of Jesus?

Monday, August 5, 2013

If Jesus says in Matthew 25:40 "Whatever you have done for the least of these brothers & and sisters of mine you have done it unto me".. Then I had a blessed time today blowing bubbles with Him, giving out food to Him,  praying over Him, drawing with chalk with Him, laughing with Him, hugging Him etc. at today's Lighthouse Mission street outreaches... Why don't you consider coming down & be the hands of Jesus with us? God bless you - Pastor jim

The news keeps talking about the gang problems in the community around the Lighthouse Mission & haven't any idea what to do.. Lighthouse Mission knows EXACTLY what to do: Be the hands of Jesus to them, be a father to the fatherless by spending time with them biking, kayaking, sailing, hiking, etc. but most importantly teach them God's Holy Word..
In this photo "gang kids" get their gear ready to hit the trails with Lighthouse pastors. Please pray for us, these kids & consider praying about becoming a monthly Financial partner. God bless you.

Lighthouse Missions Back-to-School program is in 4 weeks. We NEED school supplies to share the love of Jesus with hundreds of homeless & under-privilaged children. Will you help? -- Check out this video for all of the details.

Pastor Jim has been ministering to this poor homeless woman for several years - She has had a hard life: addicted to alcohol, has been abused and is not physically well and her condition is getting worse. The good news is right on the cusp of allowing us to get her into a wonderful Christian program and off of the street. Please keep this poor woman in your prayers.

"Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” - Matthew 19:26

Nearly 160 people waited on line at the Lighthouse Missions street outreach in Central Islip today. 50+ under-privileged & homeless children played with balloons, sang songs & received a lunch while their parents waited on line for food. Everyone who attended heard about the love of Jesus & best of all got to see the love of Jesus in action.. Its the Kingdom of God alive, on the move and taking back communities from the devil. Why not get on board & help, donate & prayer for us…. Whoever said following Jesus was boring?
