If you are hungry, need food, encouragement or simply need someone to pray for you the Lighthouse Miision is available to you. We dont care what color your skin may be, what religous beliefs you may have, where you live, your gender, etc. ALL ARE WELCOME to receive food. Best of all, not only will you receive food but you will also have an opportunity to hear & see the gospel of Jesus. “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." - Jesus

Today when Blaise Chrzastek (Lighthouse Mission's youth director) walked in the door of the mission he discovered a bunch of The teenagers from our youth program ministering to a man who needed Jesus. They gave them food, fresh clothes, a birthday cake (his birthday was yesterday) shoes and prayed with him. They even offered him encouraging scriptures from the Bible they have been learning at the Lighthouse. We are so proud of these teens. Please keep them in your prayers.
We can't wait to see how God is going to use them next. #lighthousemission

Since you asked publicly big "Christian" relief organization person who does not even mention the name of Jesus on your web site or any of your printed materials: "Why we won't partner with you"? is because we are NOT about "good works" or just giving away food we are about JESUS. Lighthouse Mission is not a random once a year "churchy" event designed to make people feel good about themselves. It happens nearly every day. No matter what the weather: rain, snow, heat, cold, storms, etc. if our truck tires turn- we will go & when people give their lives to Jesus Its authentic. Why? because our volunteers are consistent. People needing food can count on us to be there each day to give them food, tell them about Jesus & pray for them, ask nothing from them and most of all- they SEE volunteers & pastors doing all this for them- each day they see we have no agenda other then to bless them. So when they give their lives to Jesus it's authentic & lives are radically changed.
Perhaps if you actually put the name of Jesus in front of your good works (and on your website & printed materials), put aside your agenda then we can talk.

What would make makes God smile?
is a question we get all of the time.
One way is when you can put food in the aching belly of a child in need, protect & cloth them, make them laugh but most of all tell them about the love Jesus has for them- is certainly one way to please the Lord.
That is what Lighthouse Mission does each day.

Ok, I understand that the daily street outreaches that Lighthouse Mission hosts each day around Long Island can be a sad thing to see to with 100+ hurting and hungry people waiting on line to just to receive food. But if you look and listen more closely you'll SEE & HEAR the wonderful gospel of Jesus being preached. In these photos we had a fun church group that came and painted children's faces, played games, helped give children nutritious lunches and prayed with all the children who came with their parents who were waiting on line for food- it's a circus for Jesus each day and Lighthouse Mission Street outreaches.
Why not pray to see if God wants you helping or supporting our daily street outreaches?

 

At Lighthouse Missions Pastor Jim loves to take people outside the walls of "church buildings" to teach about Jesus. Especially when it includes teens & kids on a kayaking adventure!

Just finished a great mountain bike ride with sone of the teens of the Lighthouse Mission. After each ride we clean our bikes, enjoy a snack and go over a bible lesson.. Spending time with these teens & giving them opportunities to do something that is fun, exciting, different, great exercise but best of all teaching them about Jesus is amazing. Thank you to everyone whom God uses to make free (everything at the last mission is free ) weekly programs like this possible.

 

During lighthouse mission daily street outreaches you may have noticed children sitting at tables eating a humble lunch as their parents wait on line for food. A simple bologna & cheese sandwich may not seem like much to many but to these little children it means the world because this may be the only meal they will have for the day.. Yes, there are hurting & hungry children right HERE on Long Island. As Followers of Jesus we are supposed to shine His light to the world- not just on Sundays to other Christians or to our own children in our own churches Sunday schools but outside & beyond our church walls into our own communities. This is why Lighthouse Mission exists: To share the gospel of Jesus and feed the poor right here on Long Island.

School supplies needed to share Jesus.
There are lots of people who give out school supplies each year to families in need. So what makes Lighthouse different?
EVERYTHING the Lighthouse does has to do with sharing the good news of Jesus & the work He did for us by sacrificing Himself for us on a cross.
Giving away school supplies is great but what is MOST important is telling & showing the people who come the good news of Jesus.

If you look closely at this photo you might just see a kid fertilizing the lawn if the Lighthouse Mission. What you don't see is that when this 10tr old comes to the Mission he (and others) are not only looking for an escape from their verydifficult lives but also a fathers encouragement and direction. Sadly, so few of the children Lighthouse ministers to have active dads in their lives.. All it took from pastor him as he went to fertilize the lawn was to invite this boy to learn something new alongside pastor & this little guy smiled big & jumped at the chance (yes, even to learn how to fertilize a lawn) and I am proud to say he did a great job. - God says He is a Father to the fatherless. At Lighthouse Mission we are just trying to follow His example. Would you consider investing into us as we invest into these young people?

When I look at how long the lines of hurting and hungry people are at Lighthouse Mission daily street outreaches I am always in awe of Gods amazing love. How is it possible that a little ministry like lighthouse mission who operates simply on small donations can feed so many people (3200+ each week)? The answer is we can't - but God can & it's HE who provides for their needs through His Lighthouse Mission. Why not come down one day, roll up your sleeves and help serve Jesus with us?

I walk into my office the other day and discover on my desk a box containing two cartons of sidewalk chalk, three tubes of blowing bubbles, balloons and a few sweet kites!!! I have no idea who dropped that box of goodies off for me - I am so thankful.
A few moments later a family needing some help with food, clothing and a few other necessities for their sweet children came into the lighthouse Mission.. While some of the Lighthouse missionary staff helped the family I got a chance to blow some bubbles with this cute little girl.. It was a blessing to me and I am sure my heavenly father to hear this poor little girl laugh. - Pastor Jim
