I think if Jesus were walking around in the flesh we would have saw him today at the Lighthouse Mission street outreaches. Wonderful smiling volunteers handing out food to hundreds of hungry people, children singing songs to Jesus, pastor jim blowing bubbles & handing out colorful balloons to the children, everyone receiving prayer & best of all - many giving their lives to Jesus after hearing the gospel of Jesus preached. What a great way to worship God.
What a wonderful time we had today at the Lighthouse Mission Street outreaches. We shared the gospel of Jesus and prayed with hundreds of people, everyone got the food that they needed, Pastor jim even handed out balloons and blew bubbles with the children. It was like a circus for Jesus! What a great way to worship God this Resurrection week.
What a beautiful day to share the gospel of Jesus & to feed the poor at the Lighthouse Mission street outreaches. It was great to have a team from Shelter Rock church give us a hand loading trucks, handing out food but most importantly praying with everyone at the outreach. In this photo a woman who just lost her teenage son to suicide weeped as she prayed with some of the youth from the church.. Many who came for food gave their lives to Jesus today! The harvest is so plentiful- come on down and get plugged in.

Big start for "Resurrection Week" as we say at the Lighthouse Mission.. Lines of people attending the outreaches for food & clothing were very-very long... We are expecting much more then 3200 meals to be given in the name of Jesus this week alone. If you are praying about becoming a monthly financial partner this month we could sure use the help.. Donations this month are way down- not even enough to over the cost to put fuel into our outreach trucks. Please join us in prayer that God will send the rain :-)

Pastor Mike & jim had a great time hosting a home school group that came for a visit. These guys worked really hard loading boxes and asking lots of great questions... Some explained that they want to be missionaries & tell people about Jesus when they grow up :-)
What a great prayer & hope for ALL of our children. "To know Christ & to make Him known"

This little guy (3 yrs old) came into Pastor jims office today and wanted to know who Jesus was? "is He your daddy"? he asked? He never heard the name Jesus before.. Pastor jim gave him a new childrens bible with lots of photos & he asked him to read it to him… Thank you to those who make it possible for us to be able to put a bible into the hands of a poor, little child. - this is why Lighthouse Mission exists. "to share the Gospel of Jesus & feed the poor"

Give Pastor Mike a call 631-758-7584 & we will get ya plugged in... This photo is of a new game a few of the kids along with Pastor Mike built- its called carpet ball & they love it! Can you imagine kids putting down video games these days to play carpet ball? Miracles happen all the time at the Lighthouse Mission ;-)

Want to learn how to play the guitar? Perhaps learn a few songs that worship God? The Lighthouse Mission has free guitars lessons to whoever would like to learn. Each Saturday- for an hour: if you are a beginner stop over at 3:00pm. If you have some experience, stop over at 4:00pm.... We have a few guitars available to use but if ya have your own- bring it on down & we will teach ya to use it.... "Let everything that breathes sing praises to the LORD! Praise the LORD" - Psalm 150
Teaching homeless & under-privileged children about Jesus, making them laugh, giving them a good meal, encouraging them about the craft they just made - making them feel important and loved at Lighthouse Missions "Kids Club" are all part of being a weekly volunteer Lighthouse Mission missionary. What a great way to worship God! Why not consider becoming a part of it?
Yup, it's another "Kids Club" day at the Lighthouse Mission.. 11am-1:00pm / kids k-5th grades / crazy games, lunch, crafts, prizes & best of all learning about & experiencing the Love of Jesus in action... Would you, your church, business, etc. consider helping sponsor one of these a "kids club" weekly events? -- For many of these little guys, this will be their only meal of the day.

A question Lighthouse Mission receives a lot is: How many people has the Lighthouse Mission Fed last year? - namely 2012? So Pastor jim recorded a simple video during a normal street outreach to talk a little about the need on Long Island
This poor elderly woman came to the Lighthouse Mission street outreach today hours before our outreach trucks even arrived hoping to get a "good" spot on line to better ensure she will some much needed groceries.. Please keep in mind that the wind is blowing hard & it's freezing outside & that IS concrete she is sleeping on. We were able to bless her with a cup of hot chocolate, food, a warm blanket & were able to pray over her in the mighty name of Jesus.. There are just so many local hurting people who need to hear the good news of Jesus- will you help invest your time, talents & treasure into Lighthouse to help us continue to "Seek & Save that which was lost" right here on Long Island.
This sad parade of elderly people standing in the cold using wheel chairs, walkers, canes, etc. is a very common site at any daily Lighthouse Mission street outreach. The real sad thing is (especially at this location) is that hundreds of people stand waiting for just the hope of a bag of food while a large American flag is obvious & loudly flapping overhead… what has happened to our country? Places like Lighthouse Mission cant get food or funding to help the 3200+ people each week (while a local Long island "church" spends thousands to build a marble statue) we barely scrape by each week, local villages & gov agencies continously threaten to arrest us for feeding the poor & sharing the Gospel of Jesus, we recieve countless angry e-mails & letters & so few encouraging ones. I know when Jesus said that "we are to in the world but we are not to be of the world" I did not think that I would ever feel like a criminal for feeding the poor & sharing the Gospel of Jesus on Long Island- I was wrong. The good news is ths Jesus says "If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first." - We are blessed to serve our mighty King Jesus & we will fight the forces of darkness to our very last breath! - Pastor jim

-- IMPORTANT --
Hello everyone, just a quick heads up: if anyone comes to your home or business collecting money for Lighthouse Mission they are NOT from Lighthouse Mission- Do NOT give them any donations. The Lighthouse Mission has never (in 20 years) ever collect funds door to door.. Sadly, a team of people have been collecting funds around Long Island for a long time now..
Please pray for these people that God will open their hearts to His will for their lives & accept Him as their Lord & Savior and not for the things of this world..

Lots of hurting people attending Lighthouse Missions street outreaches in Coram & Ronkonkoma today... So many people need to not only hear about Jesus but to SEE Jesus as well. The gospel of Jesus is so much much-more then just attending a church building on Sunday... It's about having the heart of your Heavenly Father & then simply going to work with your Dad :-) -- Pastor Jim
Hunger, poverty, loneliness & homelessness are sad realities that many elderly face.. In this photo, this poor elderly woman was so excited simply to have someone to speak with. Pastor Jim prayed with her and she just started weeping & thanking him over & over.. It's the love in action- on the streets- right where Jesus would be. Would you consider helping or supporting our team? "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few..." - Jesus

Something to think about today when you look outside your window to check the weather - how many families will be standing in the snow at Lighthouse Mission food outreaches today with their children hoping for a bag of groceries.... What a great day to "Love On" people in the name of Jesus.
"Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples." - Jesus
"Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples." - Jesus
Yup its snowing, cold and a bit wet outside but that is not going to stop Lighthouse Mission missionaries from going out to the streets today from sharing the Gospel of Jesus & feeding the poor… Why not take your lunch break and help us be the hands of Jesus in Port Jefferson & Shirley? Its days like these that prove the love of Jesus to the hundreds who will be standing on line for food… "Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples." - Jesus

As the lines of hungry people grow each week at the Lighthouse Missions street outreaches here on Long Island we understand that many people who are coming for food have pets, pets that they were once able to afford to take care of when they were employed, before they became sick, homeless, etc. so Lighthouse tries to also offer pet foods & supplies when available (when donated to us) ... God created all creatures so we should respect them all.
Today Pastor Jim & Craig loaded up a Lighthouse Mission van with supplies & went into the woods ministering to homeless people. We came across some folks in a nice site who wanted to know more about Jesus. In some cases we have discovered abused & very sick woman, a man on the brink of death, a knife wielding angry man, a family living with small children in a storage container, etc... These are usually the people that don't attend our daily street outreaches & are not following Jesus.. That's why we go, not to just bring them supplies or beg them to allow us to get them into a drug program but to bring them the Light of Jesus into these dark places...
Ya know those shoe boxes that churches are always stuffing & sending to children at some far away country full of goodies? Lighthouse Mission was recently blessed with boxes as a valentine blessing for needy children HERE in our own neighborhoods on LI from a local public school. We were blessed to put bibles inside each box and bless under-privileged & homeless children here on Long Island. So often when people think about poverty they think of foreign countries- sadly, Lighthouse missionaries get to see hungry & hurting children right here in Suffolk County. The Good news is that Lighthouse Mission gets to sow Words of Life (Jesus) into their lives. Thank you to all of you that invest funds, time & prayer into the L
ighthouse Mission each month to make things like this possible..Monday, March 4, 2013
Here is a photo of Lighthouse Missions Pastor Jim and the missions assistant warehouse manager Leonard Ormond. Leonard was honored at an awards ceremony hosted by Senator Lee Zeldin as the 2013 Black history month recipient award for the outstanding community service he does for God at the Lighthouse Mission. The first thing he did was give glory to God! We are so proud of him. I love watching God use this man.
Excited to pick up a whole lot of kids from local homeless shelters to bring them to the Lighthouse Missions Kids Club on Saturday from 11am-1:00pm - grades k-5th.... A Christian puppet & illusionist show, lunch, crazy games, goodies and best of all - learning about Jesus.. We are going to have a great time!
