The lines of hurting & hungry Long Islanders are growing each week. Sadly, many are elderly. They wait in the rain, snow, cold & heat. Clinging to their walkers in hope a a few bags of precious groceries that God will provide to them through His Lighthouse Mission. Please keep Lighthouse in prayer- donations have been way-way down but the need has gone up... but with God ALL things are possible!

Sadly, in many of the communities surrounding the Lighthouse Mission daily street outreaches teens believe that the police are their enemies. Lighthouse is trying to change all that by encouraging the police to visit the kids to play games & hang out... It's already started to work- the teens aren't afraid to see them. In fact, they now look forward to their next visit. Praise God!

The wind was blowing incredibly hard today during the Lighthouse Mission daily street outreaches. Hundreds of people stood in line, some elderly, some in wheel chairs, some with their children hoping to receive a few bags of groceries from Jesus. By the grace if God every need was met and everyone had the opportunity to hear the amazing news of Jesus.#lighthousemission

Sharing the gospel of Jesus & feeding the poor is of course the top of my list of things to do. The next thing I love to do is give out baloons, blow bubbles, fly kites and draw on the ground with sidewalk chalk with the poor children who attend the Lighthouse Mission street outredaches all while telling them that Jesus loves them. #lighthousemission - Pastor jim
Want to smile: watch little children being silly, dancing & praising God during Lighthouse Missions "Kids Club".. Kids just learned in a fun way what "Easter" is all about. It's really "Resurrection Sunday" and is ALL about Jesus NOT a silly bunny..
It's always wonderful to hear hurting, poor & homeless children laughing & singing to Jesus. I'm sure it is music to His wars as well.

With so many teens coming to the lighthouse mission each week it has caught the attention of some of the gov & community leaders. They want to know what makes the Lighthouse so different & more successful then their expensive gov sponsored solutions? The answer is simple & we make it very clear - it is woven into EVERYTHING that the Mission does & teaches- it's Jesus. It's not us- it's Jesus.. We lift Him up and expect Him to do something big... And He does!
Celebrating the Risen Christ Lighthouse Mission style: 70+ homeless & under-privileged children making their own bible covers (try and read some in the photo) & receiving a bible of their own to put into it. Lunch, games, Resurection baskets filled with candy & scriptures. Best of all learning that Jesus loves them & has a wonderful plan for their precious lives.

What better way to get excited about the Resurrection of Jesus then to serve & give to others in the name of Jesus without expecting anything in return.

What a blessed time we had today sharing the gospel of Jesus feeding the poor. Why not consider trusting in Jesus & joining us one-day? Your life will never be the same.

Jesus said that "even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others..." Matt 20:28

What a blessing it was to be able to take 2 vans full of teens to a retreat center in PA. Team building skills, zip lines, high ropes, archery but best of all learning about Jesus. For many under-privileged teens trips like this are impossible. With God ALL things are possible. Thank you to everyone who gives to God through Lighthouse Mission each month. God USES YOU to make things like this happen.

This little guy walked his broken down bicycle that is literally held together with duct tape to the Lighthouse Mission for help. He told Pastor Jim that he needs "a dad's help" to fix his bike. In a moment Blaise Chrzastek Lighthouse Missions Youth Director had his bike temporally fixed ... A day later it broke again- this time beyond repair. Fortunately someone had just donated a good used bicycle in his exact size that he was so-so blessed to receive... He has been riding his new "Jesus bike" as he calls it all over the neighborhood.- Praise God!!

At this weeks Lighthouse Missions "Kids Club" each child made their own Super-Hero cape! Lighthouse volunteers helped nearly 80 under-privileged & homeless children decorate their capes with bible verses & crosses. In the center it said "Jesus is my REAL super-hero". For many of these children this is the only time aside from school they can get out of the homeless shelter. Their lives are hard and full of a lot of sadness. To hear them laugh & sing to Jesus is music to our ears.. I'm sure it is sweet-sweet music to Gods ears as well.
This is a fun photo of Pastor Jim & his wife (on the left) posing with some 80+ children of the Lighthouse Missions "Kids Club" super heroes. The children made their own cape & decorated them with bible verses. In the center it said Jesus is my REAL super-hero. Each cape was hand cut by dedicated Lighthouse volunteers.

INMATES BLESS THE MISSION:
Today was a crazy busy day at the Lighthouse & we had almost no volunteers to help salvage nearly 10 skids of great canned food that a LI food organization was going to throw away. So P
astor Jim & his team prayed for help & God answered his prayer through the Corrections System. We were blessed with 16 hard working young men who are currently in prison. Pastor Jim shared lunch with them as well the gospel of Jesus. They were very interested in Jesus & had lots of questions that Pastor enthusiastically answered. When they get out of prison they want to volunteer at the mission and come to our daily bible study. I can't wait to see what God is going to do next!
In a few weeks the Lighthouse Missions "Kids Club" will be celebrating the resurrection of Jesus. We wanted to give each child a bible & cover along with a "Resurrection Basket" as pastor jim preferrers to call it rather then an Easter basket. Each is filled with all sorts of goodies along with various biblical items such as coloring books, bible tracts, etc. We need at least 80... Some creative Christian ladies just held a very cool fellowship party assembling some baskets in their basement. What a great idea & blessing. Thank you to everyone who is helping to bless these poor children.

Video: Spider-man & Batman have an arm wrestle match at the Lighthouse Missions "Kids Club" ... having fun with super-heros, a pizza lunch, games, crafts but very VERY best of all these little guys are learning about Jesus... thank you to everyone who donates to make programs like this possible.

Lighthouse Missions "Kids Club" was great!. We interviewed Superman, Batman & Spider-man. They learned that they are not real but comic book characters. However. Jesus is & REAL, Loves them & has an incredible plan for their life. Please pray for these precious children. For many, the Lighthouse is all they have to look foirward to each week & is the only place they will hear the name of Jesus.
Eyewitness News - Pastor jim shot at & Lighthouse Mission Robbed. What an opportunity God has given pastor jim & Lighthouse Mission to demonstrate to the community what Jesus did and demonstrated for all of us on the cross and that is love & forgiveness. I can't wait to see what God is going to do next!

News12 Report -Video: What a wonderful report News12 did on the robbery that happened at the Lighthouse Mission yesterday. With Easter just around the corner it is a great opportunity to remind all of us about what Jesus did for us on the cross "Father forgive them.." are the words of Jesus - they are ours as well.

Great news! The Lighthouse Mission got ROBBED again. They smashed our door and sacked pastor jim's office. They stole $450 in donated gift cards. In addition they stole $650 in cash that was just donated to to help pay for our mountain bike program that pastor had just put inside his bible  ... Why is this great news? Because we must be rattling the devils kingdom for him to keep attacking us
If the person who robbed us is reading this: We forgive you, Jesus loves you & died for your sins on a cross, 3 days later He rose from the dead & wants to know you personally. Ask Jesus for forgiveness & choose to follow Him. Your life will be changed. I'm excited for you. We are praying for you. God bless you - Pastor Jim
We are very excited about our newest piece of exterior artwork that was DONATED and installed onto our headquarters. It is 4 fish. Why fish? Well the fish go well with the Lighthouse Missions Nautical theme. Historically, The fish also represent a Christian meeting place. More importantly, it represents the traditional Christian family. A father a mother and their children. If you look really close you will notice the larger-father fish has a cross. That represents the Father as the Christian spiritual leader of his home... How cool is that?

The Lighthouse Mission is trying to raise $3500 to buy quality mountain bikes for our pastors to take under-privileged and "at risk" kids biking. Will you help ?

Tuesday, April 1, 2014

Many teens who don't have anything to do over the spring & summer tend to find themselves in trouble. In our neck of the woods trouble can mean gang involvement. Please help us raise the $3500 we need to buy quality mountain bikes & teach them about the love of Jesus.

Yes, it was that kind of outreach today... but we are thankful to Jesus that we had enough food to meet the need, our trucks did not get stuck and we were able to pray with many people to accept Jesus into their lives.
Pastor Craig Procidia the Lighthouse Missions very own Warehouse Director and Samantha of "Samantha's little bit of heaven" did a great job answering Newsdays "Ask the Clergy" in today's paper.. God bless you guys. You are both faithful servants to the most high God! - Pastor Jim
Kids having a blast at today at Lighthouse Missions "Kids Club" today. What better sound is their then children laughing & learning about Jesus. Especially when many of these under-privileged children have so little to laugh about. Thank you Wonder puppets for your generosity- the children were blessed.
