It was a blessing today to install a new air conditioner for a poor man who recently had to have his foot removed that pastor jim witnessed hobbling down the street. In this photo he asked Pastor Craig (Lighthouse Mission warehouse manager) for prayer as he is in a lot of pain. God has now blessed him with food, air conditioning and is invading his life with the love of Jesus. — with Carla Procida.

More than 60 children attended Lighthouse Missions basketball camp this past weekend. They all had lunch, drinks, t-shirts & learned about the gospel & love of Jesus.. The cool part is when this camp was going on the front page article in Sunday's Newsday spoke about the gang problem in Bellport.. Guess who was attending our camp? The gang kids!! Be encouraged The Kingdom of God is on the move! Gang kids at Lighthouse are following Jesus not Satan.

These are the kids that the Lighthouse Mission works with each day (especially since our HQ is IN North Bellport). In fact, pastor jim has had a gun pointed at him twice- the good news is that God has been sending us gang kids each week & they attend our youth programs.. So be encouraged, God is working through His Lighthouse Mission. We are seeing many of these kids give their lives to Jesus. Want to get connected, donate or find out more? We can use all the help we can get. God bless you.

Please pray for Lighthouse Mission's 3 day Basketball camp starting tomorrow in Bellport.. It's free,  (everything Lighthouse Mission does is free) lunch, drinks & snacks will be served.. Kids of all ages can come down and learn how to play basketball from former pro & semi pro Christian players from around the country.. Best of all we have a "church" service / worship service right in the park. There is nothing better than seeing an active gang member give their life to Jesus.  Want to donate towards this or perhaps have children who would like to attend? Give the Lighthouse a call for more details.  631.758.7584
What a blessing to take a group of under-privilaged youth mountain biking. Pastor Mike & jim had a blast teaching the kids how to use a mountain bike, navigate trails, etc. Most don't own a bicycle or helmet. All of the bicycles were donated & tuned up by Lighthouse volunteers. BEST of ALL having a bible study in the woods about what it means to truly follow Jesus. -- want to get connected or donate towards our youth programs? give us a call: 631-758-7584

God just sent us a new van! Ok, its not exactly new- it's got more then 100k miles on it but it is a wonderful blessing & is now in the Lord's army. We will be using this van to pick up donated food & supplies to bring to daily street outreaches -- A special thank you to Dean Murray for allowing God to use you to make this happen. ... I can't wait to see what God is going to do next!— with Dean Murray.

As we loaded Lighthouse Mission street outreach trucks with food today we had very little water to give people suffering in the heat waiting on lines for food.... So we continued to pray -- Then slowly water donations started to come in. Donated by some of Gods faithful soldiers.. When the trucks left for the outreach they all had ice cold water available & by the wonderful grace of God we were able to meet every need..

The bible says to "walk by faith & not by sight" -- I can't wait to see what God is going to do next!

It's 100 degrees outside and we were blessed to have News12 Visit our street outreaches to report on our NEED for bottled water. Sadly we have very little water to give to the people standing on Lighthouse Mission outreach lines for food.
Please keep us in your prayers- Our team of missionaries are tired, our neighbors are suffering and we have very little water to give.

"if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of my followers, you will surely be rewarded." - Jesus
It's hard for parents to wait on Lighthouse Mission food outreach lines with their children especially when it's over 95 degrees, soooo its a perfect opportunity for me to give out balloons! (when i have them) - but more importantly I make sure I put my hand on the head of each one of these poor children & bless them in the name of Jesus (Mark 10:16)... If anyone has any packages of balloons, sidewalk chalk or bubbles I could always use 'em for the glory of God. Thank you all for your prayers & God bless you -- pastor jim

It's 98° outside right now and you may be blessed to be reading this from your air-conditioned room - Please pray for the people & lighthouse volunteer missionaries that are standing in sun with their children on lighthouse Mission food lines. We try to make the experience the best we can with what little we have. Children are enjoying a nutritious lunch while their parents receive from God.. One parent explained to me that this was going to be her 6yr old little girls only meal for the day as they are extremely poor.. In addition, many were not only blessed to hear the good news of Jesus but to see His love in action. Why not come & join or support us?

It was 100 degrees and pastor jim saw this man hobbling on the side of the road (please notice he has NO FOOT. He was just released from the hospital, has no food or money & had not eaten in nearly a day) he was on his was to get a can of raviolis from the nearest store which was 1/2 mile away… Pastor picked him up gave him food and drove him home. Lighthouse Mission would like to help bless this man by moving his lawn, cleaning up his yard a bit, helping with some cloths, etc.. If you would like to help bless this man and others like him please consider partnering with the Lighthouse Mission on a monthly basis & please pray for us.

It's 96 degrees outside right now at Lighthouse Mission street outreaches. People have been lined up - many with their children since 9am waiting for Lighthouse outreach trucks to arrive hoping we will have groceries to help feed their families.. If you are considering to help in some way would you consider praying about helping to financially support lighthouse each month? It cost nearly $600 each week just for truck fuel, not to mention anything else. Thank you so much & God bless you!
Even though some of the villages & towns here on Long Island may not want Lighthouse Mission giving out food in their in their communities & sharing the gospel of Jesus or drawing bible pictures with children in the parking lots with chalk or even setting up tables for children to have a nutritious lunch while their parents wait on line for food & continue to threaten us. The bible says is Acts 4:19 "Do you think God wants us to obey you rather than him?"..
As for Lighthouse Mission- We WILL do what God says to do EVERY time & NOT what man says. So Local Gov folks who are monitoring our facebook postings, if your going to arrest us, harass us, ticket us, impound our trucks, etc. we will consider it pure joy & an honor to suffer for Jesus. We love you but more importantly Jesus loves you - pastor jim

As wonderful as it is to be able to share the gospel of Jesus with hundreds of people each day it's still never easy to see so many of our Long Island neighbors: young & old standing on line in need of food & cloths. It's only by the grace of God that we are able to meet the ever growing need.

When the little children of the parents waiting on Lighthouse Mission food lines see Pastor jim approaching They get very excited and jump all around him.. Because they know he will most likely have bubbles, Balloons and sidewalk chalk to play with them.. They expect him to get on the ground with them and draw something amazing with them in sidewalk chalk... Which started me to think, Do we approach God like these Little children? Do we have the childlike faith To run to Jesus anticipating Him to do something amazing in our lives? Look at the joy on these little children's faces... Do we as adults find our joy in this world or joy in Jesus? .. Just a few things to pray about...
-- Matthew 18: 2-4

We received an email explaining that people don't want to "waste their time" hearing the Word of God or want anyone praying for them while we hand out food. So pastor jim decided to test if that person was correct. So he asked a crowd of more then 100 people if they no longer wanted to hear a message of hope- namely about Jesus. Not one person raised their hand. Then he asked who WANTS to hear the good news of Jesus & everyone- EVERYONE clapped & cheered. Many have their lives to Jesus this day.. "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few." - Jesus.
Please pray to The Lord of the harvest to send us more workers, resources & funds.

During a lighthouse mission street outreach a homeless man was receiving food and asked for prayer. A church missions team from Texas was helping to hand out food & quickly responded & prayed over the man. Afterwards he asked for a bible and said he wanted to change his life, stop drinking & follow Jesus. Please pray that he will allow pastor jim to get him off the street & into a good Christian rehab program- he is scared to go.
Getting some donated Mountain bikes tuned up for our next Lighthouse Mission adventure ride with some of the local teens. This may not look like a big deal but to many but the teens who come with us- it is. Many don't have a dad in their life. The bible teaches us that God is Father to the fatherless. Here at the Lighthouse we are doing our best to follow the example of Jesus. Thanks to everyone who volunteers who invests into Gods Lighthouse so we can continue to do programs like these.

Jul 5, 2013 10:37am

It's going to be very hot today & hundreds of our neighbors - elderly people & parents with their children will be standing on line for food at Lighthouse Mission street outreaches in Patchogue & Riverhead today.. It's hard to serve on days like today but, people will SEE how much we love them but more importantly how much - Jesus loves them when we tell them who sent us -- JESUS.
"But don't just listen to God's word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves" - James 1:27

Mountain Biking

Today Pastor jim & Mike took a bunch of youth mountain biking.. Thank you to everyone who helped to donate a bicycle or a helmet toward this ministry. The kids had a great time. Half way through the ride we had a quick bible study in the woods. Please keep us in your prayer as we will continue to do this each week. Also please consider donating to this ministry. We still need helmets, bicycles & funds for food, parts, etc.

Monday July 1, 2013

A news reporter from A well know "Christian" magazine called & asked me what does "doing church" look like for me? my answer: Sidewalk chalk balloons & blowing bubbles with children on the street, feeding & clothing the poor, but most importantly sharing the Bread of life (Jesus) with those in need EVERY DAY no matter what the weather.. She further explained "no, I meant how do you do church? I can't print that. No one does church like that". "Jesus did" I replied. So I guess I won't be featured in the magazine.. Again  -- pastor jim — with Stan Sherow.

It is certainly sad to see your neighbors Waiting on line with their children for food.. Come on down get plugged-in and become part of this exciting movement here on Long Island
